Sharukh Khan in Leh Market-Ladakh where he is
disposing his 98th bomb and when he is asked to
wear a safety jacket by his colleagues,he refuses
wear one and then starts the opening credits of the
movie in which the exotic locations of Ladakh are
shown and Sharukh's Khan's jab tak hai jaan
dialogue is played in the background and also
he is riding a bike.Sharukh is playing role of
Major Samar Anand who works for Indian Army
in Bomb Disposal squad.After the opening credits
Anushka's first scene in the movie is shown who is
playing role of Akira and is struggling to get a
break in Discovery channel. Anushka is shown
wearing a two piece swimming costume who dives
down in one of the rivers in Ladakh but starts
drowning and asks Sharukh Khan for help as he
is the only person sitting around,Sharukh Khan
saves her and accidently throws his personal diary
which is picked by Anushka and she reads his 10
years old life story in the diary in which there is
mention of his love affair between Sharukh Khan
and Katrina who plays role of Meera Thapar in
the movie who is daughter of business tycoon
Anupam Kher.
The story in Major Samar Anand's personal diary
goes back into the flashback where he is shown
as immigrant from India who comes to London
and does multiple jobs like snow cleaning,working
in small fast wood chains etc.and also stays at a
rented place with a room partner who is from
Lahore.
One day while cleaning the snow Sharukh notices
Katrina Kaif rushing towards the Church who
makes a pledge to stop her wedding and in return
she will sacrifice something as she believes in her
self made phillosphy "kuch paane ke liye kuch
khona padta hain" and Sharukh after secretly
watching her confession-finds all this very amateur
and kiddish.
As the movie proceeds further Katrina's dad in the
movie Anupam Kher is going to turn 50 and on his
coming birthday Katrina Kaif as a gift and
humble gesture wants to sing a Punjabi song for
her father since he was born in Jalandhar,India.So
one day she notices Sharukh singing "Challa"
song in fluent Punjabi throughout London and
requests him to train her for a Punjabi song as she
doesn't know even P of Punjabi.
So now Sharukh agrees to teach a song to Katrina
and also she agrees to teach English to Sharukh as
he is not fluent with the language.After a week
Sharukh succeeds in learning English from
Katrina but Katrina is not still successful in
learning Punjabi song with full confidence to
which Sharukh gives her the explanation that she
is too much conscious of others that's why she in
not succeeding in singing the song with full
enthusiasm and emotion.
He gives her advice to arrive at a small scale club
where Katrina dances with full confidence and
sings "Ishq shava" with Sharukh without being
conscious.Now both Katrina Kaif and Sharukh
while their way back to home,Sharukh makes a
confession to her that he loves her and if she also
have the same feelings for him she will miss her
train,and Katrina misses the train also Sharukh
does a smooch to Katrina and their happy love
story gets started.
As both Katrina and Sharukh make a decision to
spend their life together and also Katrina says
to Sharukh that she will tell her dad about him and
when Sharukh in excitement says bye to Katrina
while driving his bike,he encounters with an
accident and Katrina Kaif who did not abide her
pledge in Church that she will not cross the line
with Sharukh besides just being friends finds
herself the reason of the accident and she makes a
pledge again to her God to please save his life and
in return she will never meet him again.
Does Katrina Kaif abide by her promise to not
meet him again ? That is in the remaining story of
Yash Chorpra's last directed projected Jab tak
hain jaan.
Jab tak hain Jaan's D.O.P. is done by Anil Mehta
which is amazing,specially the opening credits of
the movie and song picturisation of "Challa"song
is outstanding.
Jab tak hain Jaan is shot in exotic locations of
Ladakh,London and Kashmir.Choreography by
Vaibhavi Merchant is good specially in a street
dance music before "Ishq shava"song-Vaibhavi
Merchant's choreography and Katrina's dance is
fabulous.
Jab tak hain Jaan has also small cameos of Neetu
Singh,Rishi Kapoor,Anupam Kher and Sarika.
A Tribute to Mr.Yash Chopra is given before the
opening credits of the movie and also in the closing
credits of the movie where some scenes of the late
director are shown that how he directed this movie.
